The High Electoral Commission in the North and East Syria region called on international governmental and non-governmental organizations to monitor the progress of the electoral process for electing municipalities in the region.
Today, the High Electoral Commission issued a statement to the public opinion, which was read in front of the Commission building in the city of Raqqa in the presence of the Commission members, by the co-chair of the Commission, Hussein al-Sheikh and Roken malla Ibrahim.
The High Electoral Commission statement said: “Based on the decision issued by the High Electoral Commission in the North and East Syria region, which includes holding municipal elections in the NE Syria region, on the eleventh of next June, the door for nominations has been opened in addition to the distribution of electoral cards and continue to work to identify and name polling centers.”
The High Electoral Commission confirmed: “Because the goal of the High Electoral Commission in the NE Syria is to make the electoral process a success, and to devote efforts to preserve its integrity, transparency and independence, we call on international governmental and non-governmental organizations to monitor the progress of the electoral process supervised by the High Electoral Commission in NE Syria, we are also honored to invite you to participate in monitoring the electoral process according to the following:
-Monitoring the progress of the electoral process.
-Monitoring the opening of polling stations and ensuring their preparations.
-Follow up on the voting process and ensure that appropriate conditions are provided for voters to cast their votes.
-Monitoring the vote counting process and ensuring its integrity.
And also said: “Please confirm your attendance and direct any inquiries that will contribute to the success of the electoral process. We hope that you will be among those who make efforts to ensure the success of the electoral process.”
The High Electoral Commission in the NE Syria called on all the people in the region to go to cast their votes freely for those who wish to represent them in the municipalities.
