To denounce the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on the region, thousands of people from the Euphrates Canton went out in a march that started from Free Women’s Square in the city of Kobani.
Amid chanting, "Long live the SDF resistance" and "Death to fascism," the participants carried pictures of leader Abdullah Ocalan, the martyrs, and the flag of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
Upon its arrival at Martyr Agid Square, the participants observed a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs. Then, the co-chair of the Democratic Society Movement (TEV DEM) in the Euphrates Canton, Anwar Muslim, delivered a speech in which he condemned the attacks of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries, the “National Army.”
He said: "The international coalition to fight ISIS must fulfill its responsibilities and put an end to the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, which increased with the fall of the Baath regime in Syria."
He stressed: "Our message in NE Syria is clear, which is to live in a democratic Syria that preserves the rights of all components. They say that the Kurds are an essential component of Syria. This must be implemented on the ground by stopping attacks on them."
The march ended with the participants chanting: “Long live the SDF resistance,” “The martyrs are immortal.”
