Turkish authorities opened on Sunday a number of kindergartens in the city of Afrin, northwest Syria, to teach Syrian children the Turkish language and culture.

Under the name of “Cennet tomurcukları” – Buds of Heaven – the Turkish authorities opened 21 kindergartens to teach the Syrian children, aged between 4 and 6, the Turkish language and culture, Human Rights organization – Afrin said on its official Facebook account.

The organization, that continually covers the human rights violations in Afrin, added that the 21 kindergartens would be opened in the city center and the surrounding villages.

The main goal of this process is to impose the Turkish language and culture, in addition to Islamist doctrine, the organization noted.

In 2018, Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA), invaded the Kurdish-majority region of Afrin and occupied it after expelling the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) and all the civilians and administrative institutions.

The region, since then, has been controlled by the SNA factions under the supervision of Turkey that has imposed the policy of Turkification.
